“Finally an FM Transmitter that Works”

“I first purchased the Griffen RocketFM which was Terrible, if your considering that Transmitter I hope your planning on using it with a receiver with a big extendable antenna. I needed a FM transmitter that spans almost my entire 1/4 acre, or at least as far as my wifi coverage. I would assume im not alone, who wants to transmit to only 1 room or floor? unless you live in a Apartment, most people want the entire house and the backyard and detached garage or barn if you have one. I needed it for Basement coverage, Yard Coverage, and my detached Garage. “This just works!” just like the name says “Whole House”, and although I didn’t look for a clear frequency, I noticed as I drove in the frequency I initially tried actually has 2 neighbor stations ive never heard but as soon as I drive in my driveway this transmitter comes in over them just fine.

It works in my Basement, It works in my yard for mowing the lawn, and works in my garage when im fixing the car all places I don’t have a Internet Radio to listen to. Im using it with a ancient G4 Mac Mini running obsolete panther with VLC media player remotely managed by Vine VNC so it can run without keyboard or screen, doing the streaming powered by the Mac’s usb and connected into the audio jack. All day long that Mac does that job of delivering Internet Radio to FM and AM. I already own the SSTran AM transmitter which if your looking for a AM transmitter to transmit to your old AM only tube radios that is what you want for entire house coverage. I knew it was possible to have entire house coverage since my AM transmitter was already doing it before I bought this FM transmitter.

This is a great seller, I contacted them before I purchased this, since I was also considering the C Crane transmitter. The RocketFM transmitter was such a piece of junk and waste of valuable time, I was very leary and cautious purchasing another fm transmitter. But I took the chance with this seller, he assured me if it didn’t work as great as advertised I could send it back, and when it costs this much you want to make sure it lives up to your expectations. The RocketFM transmitter I bought had no return policy, it ended up in my garbage along with some of my hair I pulled out trying to get it to work and I was out $40 and a entire day of trying to find a good frequency. This is a little more expensive then others but if you want one that works this is worth it, and with a return policy you have nothing to lose. I would have paid $200 for coverage of my entire property so this was still a deal.

I am using the Antenna extension that comes with this that your advised not to if you live in the US. But I have a hard time believing anything powered by USB could be against the law no matter how long the antenna is. Its very interesting the Manual states depending on the station frequency you choose the longer or shorter length of antenna you need. I suppose to Radio experts this is not news, but im your average homeowner just trying to fill my property with internet radio, I didn’t know that, Also interesting that the low end of the dial like 88.9 requires the longest length of Antenna and the higher numbers like 107.5 require less length. At least according to the manual, Im using all of it just to be on the safe side.

As for Antenna setup Im using this in a 1 story Rambler in the farthest corner of the house away from Electrical lines and other electronics, I only have a nightstand in that corner bedroom. I picked this spot for my AM transmitter, which worked best for that. I have the Mac Mini on the floor, I have this Transmitter clipped to the back of the nightstand so its elevated about 2 1/2 feet from the floor. which is as far away as the audio jack will reach from the Mac to the Transmitter. I have the Antenna running from the Transmitter down through a hole in the floor I made for the Ethernet cable. I ran this Antenna through that hole and it almost reaches the basement floor. I think if you had a 2 story house you would want this in the Attic running down through the floors. Ive never been sure how to run Antenna but this seems to work great.

In summary I hope this helps others, trying to get Internet Radio in the FM air. This is a great product, a great seller, worth every penny to me.”

“It Works Great”

"I have a GPS on my motorcycle but the problem is that the speakers are very small and hard to hear. What I have done is I mounted the transmitter in the fairing and attached the optional microphone to the speaker on back of the GPS. I have a 12v accessory port in the fairing that I use for the 12v adapter that came with the transmitter, that way it gets power only with the key on. All I had to do was set the am/fm radio and the transmitter on the same fm frequency and now the GPS comes through the bike’s stereo speakers. It works great. When I first came up with this idea, I talked with Jesse and he was a great help, he should get a big thank you. As soon as I get time Ii will e/m you some pics. Thanks for a great product."

“Got the new WHFMT 2.0 in a few days ago and I just want to say, you guys rock! As usual, the setup is quick and easy. I’ve the Gold Edition for a several years and it’s been a rock solid performer (and still is). I put the new 2.0 in place of the Gold and powered up. Needless to say, I’m a happy man!

The new 2.0 is everything it’s described to be. The choices are even better now that I have the entire FM band at my fingertips with the new digital tuning feature. Even though the FM band is crowded in my area, I have at least three places on the dial that are quiet enough for use.

The Gold Edition has been retired BUT is being kept for back up, swap out or mobile use.

“I am now buying my 2nd unit for the wife”

“I am now buying my 2nd unit for the wife. I use the 2.0 to take the sound out of my big living room TV and broadcast it to any radio or headset. Because multiple flatscreen TV’s process signal at different rates, having more than one on makes for lousy sound.

With the 2.0 and a good radio I can get synchronized sound in all rooms (even if the various pictures have a difference of several seconds in some cases). Makes a big difference with the game on and I’m working around the house. late at night I can watch TV with a small table radio beside me or with headphones, so I don’t wake the wife.

My one installation mistake at first was that I draped the xmitter over the back of the TV out of sight and was disappointed with the fragile signal. I finally figured out that the big LCD screen was blocking the signal with a wall of electronics, so by positioning the 2.0 below instead of behind the TV, I got a strong clean signal everywhere in our 1 story house.

My wife watches her own shows in a different room and wants her own transmitter so she can do the same radio-headphone trick with her setup. We’re very happy with the product.”

“Nothing but Amazing Results”

“I received my transmitter on 6/21 and have had nothing but amazing results. It offers me excellent sound in my car where I first used it. I
drove 22 miles home while listening to my iPod. I didn’t any interference on the station it was playing through, which did happen quite frequently with the transmitter I previously used.

I played it through the under the counter radio I have in my kitchen, where there is now no interference in the sound when I use my microwave. I am able to stream my favorite stations from my computer to this radio and I no longer have static. I’m anxious to use the transmitter in other applications as well.

There were actually a few more accessories that came with mine. I got the 110/220V AC power adapter, a 1/8 stereo audio cable, a USB adapter, a 12V cigarette adapter, a Y cable, the RCA jack stereo adapter and a microphone. I was quite surprised at how inexpensive the device was.

Man, these have really improved a lot since the old gold one I had a few years ago and yes, mine covers my house completely and my sister-in-law’s covers her house completely. Right here we are so close to Mt. Wilson, where all the major FM signals are located, so we are RF-saturated to the max and it takes every ounce of muscle to get a signal through on a barely passable “quiet” frequency.
