Our Unusual Story

The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) reports that consumers invest
over $172,000,000 in FM Transmitters every year!

“How many of those customers who make up that $172 million do you think are thrilled with the FM Transmitter they purchased?”…

From Our Experience, Very Few!

80s Cassette Player

Here’s why: Back in the early 1980s I wanted to find a way to blanket my entire home and every room with my favorite music. The only “successful” method I devised was using an auto-reverse cassette tape player and a home built FM Transmitter that I assembled using a schematic I bought. It sounded like an amazing idea at first…

…but stirred up a hornets nest of problems.

First, the FM Transmitter would pick up too much static from the AC outlet and make the music sound like it was sizzling on a frying pan… So I had to power the whole thing with a tractor battery. Then recharge the battery every night. After a little more tinkering, the audio sounded good and I started to think I was some type of engineering genius.

The cassette player died after a month of operation. It just could not handle being used 24/7. You can imagine all the strange looks from the local store as I trudged in every month and bought a new cassette player. The whole system wound up in a closet and served as a dance stage for the dust bunnies to play on.

A Truly Universal FM Transmitter

Even after several failed attempts, I refused to give up my dream of covering my house with my favorite music using an FM Transmitter that did not require a license by the FCC.

Thankfully, in the past several years technology has caught up to my dream.

We now enjoy digital audio sources like iPods, MP3 Players, CD Players, Internet Radio, Satellite Radio, etc. that can be played 24/7. But I still needed an FM Transmitter that would cover the entire home…and not require a FCC license.

As technology advanced, so did FM Transmitters, but for some reason we couldn’t find anyone willing to make a fully assembled FM Transmitter that would cover the entire home and not require a license to operate (i.e. it would fall under FCC’s Part 15).

In case you didn’t know, the FCC allows you to broadcast around a 200 foot radius and not need a license (click here to read FCC Public Notice dated July 24, 1991).

So after searching the market, running rigorous tests and still finding none that fit the bill we came to the conclusion that we needed to have our own FM Transmitter engineered and built. Luckily, we knew it needed to…

  1. Be powerful enough to cover the entire home
  2. Arrive already assembled
  3. Be simple enough that anyone can use it
  4. Come loaded with tons of features
  5. Be small enough to easily fit in your hand

The Ultimate FM Transmitter is Born

WHT 2.0 is Born!

After months of exhaustive research, testing and playing around with options…

The Whole House FM Transmitter was born!

I figured…“If I wanted something like this, then maybe other people would like it too?”

And I was right. For the past seven years the Whole House FM Transmitter has been flying off the shelf. We’ve sold over 10,000 transmitters around the world from India to Canada, Great Britain, United Arab Emirates, Ireland, Australia, South Africa, Dubai… and the list of countries goes on and on. But once Government Agencies and Fortune 500 companies found out about it…

…they joined our list of clients, too.

Companies like McDonald’s Corporation, ConAgra Foods, The U.S. Army, The Marine Corps, The U.S. Air Force, Correctional Facilities, huge fitness center franchises like Gold’s Gym and Anytime Fitness (just to name a few)…

They all wanted the Whole House FM Transmitter.

I wanted to pass along what a success the transmitter has been for our business. We run a McDonalds in Freeport Maine where the town does not allow us to use the drive thru speaker to talk with our customers, so for years we have been struggling with just taking orders by listening and using our order display to communicate with them the best we can.

About a week ago we got the Whole House Transmitter installed into our system and are able to talk with our customers through their radio! It has made our customers happy, and our employees alot less stressed. So Thanks for all that you have done to help us run our business more effectively!!”

- Dina Gooding, Area Supervisor, McDonald’s

And of course, we’ve also sold thousands to hard working customers like you who just wanted an FM Transmitter that would work throughout their home or car. Even the house keeper for the Queen of England who lives at her Majesty’s Castle in Scotland (Balmoral Castle) owns one.

NO JOKE! It blew us away when we found out! Her name is Mrs. Jackson by the way.

The response has been astounding… the Whole House FM Transmitter won the ears of all. Why has it’s popularity soared? Because it’s easy to set-up…easy to operate and takes only minutes to start using. It really is just that simple!

If you’re like me, you’ve probably seen a ton of FM Transmitters on the market, some good, some bad, and some so bad… it should be downright criminal to be on store shelves!

So I’ll restate my guarantee…

Balmoral Castle, Scotland

“If you can find an FM Transmitter that goes as far as ours does, is loaded with as many features that we offer, and is still legal under the FCC’s Part 15 rule… I insist you return the Whole House FM Transmitter for a full refund.”
